Never Settle

Thursday night, May 8th, I was searching for a passport holder. I finally found one I liked, but the company that makes it wasn’t selling it anymore. I searched for other retailers selling it, but they were also sold out. I even looked on Poshmark and Mercari. I went to Etsy, and this lady had a shop where she made cloth passport holders. The cloth she made them from was sold by the same company that sold the passport holder I wanted. So, I was going to get her to make me the cloth version, but my heart wasn’t set on it. I decided to email the company that night and ask were they going to restock the passport holder. Friday morning, they emailed me back saying they had no plans to restock it. And that I should reach out to a local stockist who sells their products. So, there were four local stockists in the area. The first one I called was disconnected, so I found their Instagram and sent them a message. Then I called the other three places, and they had the company’s products, but not the passport holders. So, I kept looking to see if I could find something similar or something else I liked. I came across this other passport holder, and it was $95. The one I found the first time was over half the price of this new one. I told myself I’m going to sleep on it before buying it.

The next day, which was Saturday, I got up, did my Bible study, and spent time with the Lord. Amid this finding, a passport holder was still on my mind. So, I thought, "Let me put a picture of it into Google and see if it can find it anywhere; I may have missed it." Google found the passport holder on an online boutique in New York. I followed the boutique on Instagram and saw that they recently posted on their story, so I replied to ask if they had it. I went to the message thread, and it said this Instagram account cannot receive your message because they don’t allow new message requests from everyone. So, then I saw that there was a number I could call. I called, but no one picked up. I returned to the website, found their email address, and sent an email. About an hour goes by, and I haven’t heard back. I tell myself, "It's Saturday, I’m pretty sure they're busy." Then I thought, "You know what? I’m going to take a leap of faith and buy it. If I don’t receive it, I can always get my money back." I ended up buying it and getting the confirmation email. I visited the website where I purchased the passport holder, and it indicated that it was sold out. That means I bought the only one that I had. As I waited for the passport holder to arrive, I felt a sense of peace and trusted that God had everything under control. And when it finally came, I was reminded that if God can give me one of my simplest desires, like the passport holder, imagine how much more He has in store for me.
